Trip To New York City (1)

Okay so I just came back to Singapore after my trip to New York! Well, I only went there for approx. 4-5 days but the trip gave me great exposure to New York's culture etc. Anyway we took a Singapore Airlines flight to Frankfurt, then to New York. So travelling was about 24 hours! It was so tiring but lucky we sat B class so the seat was spacious and super comfortable. I think it's of pivotal importance that the journey is comfortable as the duration of the flights are long, and sleep is important! So below is a picture of my brother and I at Terminal 3! The airport was filled with angry birds which was part of the Christmas  decorations and they were so cute!

 Then after we cleared Singapore immigrations, there was a playground in the departure hall. So I brought out the inner child in me and accompanied my brother up the playground. Call me childish, I don't care. Because it was so so fun to slide down the slide esp.

  And then, FINALLY. After an arduous plane ride of about 12 hours from SG to Frankfurt and 7 hours from Frankfurt to New York, we arrived at New York! So we changed and headed to Chinatown to grab our lunch. Due to jetlag, we were all too tired to travel anywhere so we went home after our lunch and slept!

So the next day, Day 2, we headed to Central Park to take a walk and look at the scenery and just explore the place! It was just like any other park, just that it is super huge! Saw many people walking their dogs, running, cycling, etc. We went to the outdoor skating rink too! It was my virgin trip to an outdoor ice rink and it was not so awesome, because I didn't get to bring my ice skates there :( We had to rent the skates and there was no grip cos' the blades were too blunt. It was also super crowded there and there were two areas that were cordoned off for private lessons. So the space on the rink was quite limited and there was a big crowd as it was a weekend. Didn't really enjoy myself.

 My father said I took this photo with a slipshod attitude. After that, when he was viewing the pictures, he complimented me for taking this photo, saying that the background captured the scenery and that this photo is perfect. Ironic much? HAHA.

 So I got this spongebob ice cream for 3US$! Expensive and not worth the money :( Yes, it looks cute. But it tastes HORRIBLE. The yellow portion is lemon flavored and it totally tasted like cough medicine. The eyes tasted nice though! Cos' they were made of gum :) So, don't ever judge a book by it's cover. Looks cute, but horrible taste.

So a short summary of The Dakota. It is an apartment that is located just a street away from the Central Park and the subway is just outside. So it makes things very convenient for those leaving in this apartment. Many famous people lived at The Dakota. People like John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Judy Garland, and Connie Chung. The apartments here range from 2.8million to 7.6million! I'm guess that this figure is peanuts to the super rich. Okay I'm tired and done updating part(1) ~ Stay tuned for part (2) :D

Braces off! (1)

I'm so happy I can fly. I swear! I took off my braces already! After 2 years++ of suffering. Finally! I had my braces on around the end of secondary one! And then I removed it just yesterday! I'm really happy. Like I've the confidence to smile widely now.

Maybe some of you will never know how it feels like without having perfect teeth since many of you were born with perfect teeth. You people might think I'm exaggerating. But hey. You've never been in my shoes.

I've been called many many nasty names ranging from my teeth looking like separate airport runways to the mild bunny teeth. My teeth was just worse than others. Many people put braces to realign their teeth only. However, mine involved a minor operation.

I was told to take an X-ray of my teeth as the doctors feel that my teeth is the way it is coz of an extra flesh in the middle. So yes went for an x-ray and they were right! So the braces did not work and an operation was scheduled :( they cut off the extra flesh and I didn't feel anything coz they injected the idk what is it :p anyway yup. So it wasn't a painful process luckily but I could see them wiping away blood from my teeth. Which was really scary coz I felt nth at all haha!

Then they stitched my teeth up and I was scheduled for my braces appointment! To tighten my braces so as to close the gap :) and finally after the turmoil, I had my braces removed!

Nth can express my happiness really. I will post a picture of my teeth before braces, with braces and after braces tomorrow! :) have a good day ahead lovelies :-)

Mother's love.

I don't know what take do you have on this phrase, but this blog post is about a Mother's love for her child. If you're not interested, I still urge that you read it coz... Every mother is the same, wanting the best for her child.

Example:
The recent case of the sexual connection guy, you know the one that is on the news. And even though the guy was unfaithful, the wife still stood by him. For what you might ask. Until today, I found out the reason. You might think the woman is a coward and don't wanna face the music. But wait. Don't judge just by how you feel. I once used to think that way till today. I used to think 'how dumb. The husband cheated and you still want to support him. Just divorce lah'. But today I doing the reason why they swallow their sorrows and support their husband. That's because they love their children. Why? Coz they want their child to have a complete family. They want the child to grow up healthily with the attention of both parents. And I swear this is a tough pill to swallow. It's not as easy as it seems, trying to swallow your pride and support your husband even though you feel ashamed of his actions. It requires tera tons of courage . This courage is generated from the word 'love'. The mothers care for the children. That is why they will beat with all the nonsense the husband does. Don't know if you a will understand but I'm sure if you become a parent, you'll understand whatever I'm saying thoroughly.

Father's day is just over. Well, I think that everyday is father's and Mother's day. That's because if you already treat your parents very well, and dont argue or fight with your siblings, it is already the best present to them.

Anyway happy belated father's day to all fathers out there ! My dad is in USA now :( so yes I'm sad cant celebrate :(

The people I thank god for.

1. My bestest friend - Shermaine Goh Jia Yi.
Haha, I've had A LOT. A LOT. Of quarrels with her. Maybe that's what makes us the duo. Anyway fast forward. We've know each other since sec1. I know 3 years++ might not be long enough for people to be best friends or something but I feel like I know her forever. Haha she is like the total opposite of me, which actually is a good thing. It makes me realize that the world does not only revolve around me. And often I do take her for granted . Actually not only her la. Like everyone around me haha. Omg I sound emo now... Anyway! Yeah I always vent on her when I'm and angry and stuff and that's BAD. I know I know. But aiya she ah sometimes also very kns one la. Like me la. That's why can be best friends ;-) oh and we always do things tgt. Haha she always comes to my house and all. Just to spend time tgt. Who knows we might marry two guys who are twins HAHA. K kidding she got her jieliang already. On a side note, I wish that our friendship will last la :-) there must be some reason why we met each other in this life hehe. So yes.

2. The oh-so-self-proclaimed-chicken - Michelle Jeon Hye In
Without her ah... I won't have a nonsense other half. I mean we ain't lesbians but she is the person in my clique that I always go crazy with. If the both of us go high, it's havoc. It'll be havoc. HAHA. Although sometimes she damn kns also la. Haha but without her I won't have someone straightforward enough to tell me my bad points. I always ask her if my actions are right and all. And well, most of the times her predictions are always right even though sometimes I'm stubborn and insist. HAHAHA. But whatever she says kinda always comes true. And that's scary. LOL. So yes without her I won't have a Korean friend ;-) and becoz of her I actually went to google translate and tried to write a Korean card but it kinda failed and doesn't make sense. It was utter rubbish. HAHA. So yes may our friendship last my fellow chicken :-)

3. My-other-half - Lester Lim
Haha well by my other half I didn't mean it in the bf way but the BFF way. If he does see this he'll say "friend zoned" HAHAHA LOL. He is another person who predicts VERY VERY WELL. Because he knows me inside out upside down. Well people say guys make better friends coz they aren't gossipy. But hmm hmm not really ;-) he always predicts stuff very well. Maybe coz he knows me too well or something becoz I feel like there aren't any secrets between us. Well idk if he has any but I do tell him everything. Furthermore, he's been my BFF since sec1, ever since we sat tgt in class and became table partners. I thought he was horrendously irritating at first. Bug as the saying goes, 'don't judge a book by its cover'. He's the first guy I'm close to. And tell everything to. EVERYTHING HAHA. So yes I thank god for u :-) may our friendship last ;-) you're friendzoneddddddd hahaha.
P.S even though I forgot his birthday for 3 years(haha) , he never once blamed me :p I'm sorry okay. I don't mean it!

4. Athena Rachel Willis
I remember when we were in sec1, she and I were a clique haha. Idk what happened then our clique kinda got separated and now I'm with peanut butters! (btw if u dk my clique is called peanut butters). So yes now we're close again yay! She thought me important lessons in life. No kidding here. She indirectly taught me how to treasure my friends around me. Without her I think I would've had more arguments with people around me. Haha I'm serious here okay. Anyway, she is my classmate too! HAHAHA. May our friendship last ~

5. Haha the smarty underpants - Tan HanJie
Haha shit he damn egoistic. Ok anyway he is waiting for this post and I bet he is damn anxious and curious. HAHA. I told him it'll be a long post and he was like "the whole thing to me?!" HAHAHAHA. Yeah right. Okay so anyway i don't really know how we started talking but yes we did. And we're close! Haha lol my form teacher thought we were tgt or something -____- so anyway! He is just a friend HAHAHAHA. Hanjie you're friendzoneddddddd too! So blahblahblahblah he is smart, therefore earning him his nickname. And sometimes I really can't tolerate him coz he is so lame srsly. And yes the jokes he say sometimes aren't funny and gets on my nerves haha. We've had a couple of arguments but what is a friendship without arguments ? And yes he taught me how to handle irritating people like him HAHAHA (kidding). But yeah overall he is a really nice guy. :-) hope our friendship last till u are 100 years old uh. ( I think you'll die young) HAHA. Kidding!!!

6. Elysia Chiam
I love her omg. It's like u know people say when you hit problems is when you see who your true friends are ? She has always been there. Always there for me. Never once despised me for who I was. And accepted me. Although she sometimes will reprimand me for vulgarities :p but yea she has never ever threw me aside kinda thing and I love her for that! I'm very certain our friendship will last. VERY LONG.

7. My twin - Annabel Fung Si En
Hahah she celebrated my 15th bday with me, which I'm happy for! Although she planned a surprise, it kinda failed coz I saw her and ____ scurrying away HAHA. She is someone who is big hearted when it comes to her friends. She doesn't like try to save money on presets and stuff ? Haha she is my twin coz whatever happens to her, happens to me too! Just that now it isn't that accurate anymore but Srsly in lower secondary it was super similar. In fact it was all similar. Like when she broke up, I broke up too (that kinda thing). And I always lend her Polaroid from her and she doesn't mind and never fails to lend me her Polaroid camera if I asked even though she needs it :p so yes. All the best in your rs. ;-) well future rs. HAHAHA

7. The spongebob frenzy guy - Yeo Jieming
If I'm not wrong that's his surname haha. We haven't talk in 123456789 years and the way we knew each other was kinda extraordinary. We met on twitter! Haha u know how? I followed him and idk why our locations were the same I think it was 'pineapple under the sea' or something and he just mentioned me and said like 'hey we live in the same place' so yes our friendship started from there. I don't really think he will see this unless I text him and tell him about it coz we arent that close anymore but... Yeah he did make an impact in my life. Like he actually helped me pull through a bitter part of my life (which I never thought I could pull through). And he taught be how to be more sure of myself during that period of time. He is a great listener and advisor :-) all the best in everything u ass :-) miss talking to u tho.

I'm tired already. For those people that I didn't mention..... I'm sorry work harder to be in my list. K la kidding la. It's just that im very tired already and it's 1:42AM. I might even have a part2 to this. So yes be on the lookout ;-)

Well well, today I have many things to say. So yeah here goes.
1. Puppy mills (guess what's this)
2. Pets
3. Relationships
4. Friendship

1. Puppy mills.
Actually when you see this word, you'll think it's something cute. Well, the word puppy gives you the impression that makes you exclaim "oh I think this is something cute." but no. Puppy mills is actually a place that is a total hell for dogs. I'm not really sure if they have similar stuff for other small pets, but I think there is since they can even do this to dogs. Hm, to put it simply, they place about half a dozen of dogs or more into a cage, and force them to breed. FORCE THEM TO. Note that word. Dogs are supposed to breed only once a year but in this puppy mills, they are forced to actually breed thrice a year. And they have to do this again and again. The worst thing is, they have totally no way to escape this torment. Well, until they die at least. Oh and if they die, their daughter would have to continue this breeding again and again. What do the people gain, you might ask. They just do this for the sake of a word. MONEY. Yeah, people do things as cruel as this for money. And after reading, I'm sure you'll realize the importance of adopting and not buying. By buying, you're just making the puppy mills business strive. Concurrently, you are also encouraging them as when there is demand, there is supply. So please, at least make a difference to that ONE puppy. If you want to buy, ask about its origins. Make sure it isn't from any puppy mills. However, the best solution is actually to make a trip down to SPCA to adopt if you're really interested in getting a dog. PLEASE ADOPT. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT GIVE CHANCES TO THESE PUPPY MILLS.

2. Pets
I've a hamster, I'm sure she is considered a pet. This second point is a little related to the first so yeah. Ok back to the topic. My hamster is called mayo! And she's super cute :) I'll upload some of her pictures below! Anw, those people with pets or are per lovers, I'm sure they love their pet. Well maybe not to the extent of loving but yeah pets play a big part in everyone's life. Deny as you might, but you do admit that you find pets cute. Not all are cute, like those poodles, yes they are. But for dogs like watch dogs, etc, they are more ferocious as they are trained to be that way. Before I got my hamster, I did not know the existence of this puppy mills. Wow and I claim to be a pet lover. Gosh, I suck LOL. Okay anyway, yeah I didn't know so mayo was actually bought. I'm not sure if they do have hamster mills..... But I surely do not want to know because it's upsetting and causes someone to be sick, knowing what humans can do for money. Furthermore, I'm a human too. It's embarrassing how humans can end up like that. Anyway! Yeah. So if you ever want to get a pet, please please head down to SPCA to adopt. Please just spread the word of adopting and not buying. I mean many people might think they do not make a difference. But if everyone does a part and actually help this poor pets, I'm sure it would make a big difference.

3. Relationships
HAHAHAHAHAHA idk why I want to talk about this but yes I want to. This word is actually a big word for those really in love. Well, if you really love each other, then be in a relationship. Don't stay as friends and do what couples do in relationships. It cheapens the definition for relationships. Not being in a relationship and acting like you are, is like having an affair outside when you're already married. It's akin to having an affair that no one can know about. This irks me when I see people doing that. It cheapens yourself too. Like you're not even in a relationship and you're acting like you are. And you do all sorts of things with the other party, like kiss and hug, and you claim to just be friends. WOW IM SO AMAZED. This isn't meant to flame anyone by the way. IT ISN'T. Let me reiterate, it isn't. If there is anything similar, I apologize. On the contrary, couples that are together, and romantic and sweet, they do make me feel a little light. I have friends who are in relationships and hmm, it's really sweet when they narrate whatever happens to me. Well I feel like I'm someone important, that's first. And second, you can feel that aura that they are emitting. And they are like beaming when they recall whatever happens. Oh, and relationships DO NOT only involve two parties. DO NOT. Like when you two argue, don't you seek advice from someone else? Yeah that's considered involving someone already isn't it ? And if you two get married, it involves the family. As the saying goes 'When you marry, it's like the families are getting married'. If your in-laws do not get along well with your parents, you can say bye bye to your marriage. If they had any feud in the past, your parents might be adamant on you not marrying the other party. So yes relationships do not just involve two people so don't be so two-centered ( no such word but i got it from self-centered, HAHA). To top it off, relationships are bittersweet and everything in between.

4. Friendships
Who do you consider 'friends' ? Someone whom you just wave to in school? Is that person your friend? Any people have different reasons for having friends. Some want famous people as friends, obviously to gain fame. Others, on the other end, just want a simple friendship. They want someone to talk to about their problems, laugh, and just have a wheel of time. Which are you? Some friendships are superficial. It holds the perception that 'I'm being friends with you coz I want to get something out of it'. I'm certain not everyone is like that. But lets not forget the definition of friendship. Its a noun and there are 2 meanings:
1.The emotions or conduct of friends; the state of being friends.
2.A relationship between friends.

And the definition of friends:
1. A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
2. A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.

If that person trusts you, don't forsake that persons trust. Do not throw away that trust the person has in you. It's not easy to actually make someone trust you. So don't destroy that pillar of trust by a slip of the mouth. Friends are actually pretty important. Even when you're in a relationship, it's important to prioritize so you won't lose your friends. Even during holidays, make an effort to meet up with your best friends. Friendship requires both parties to actually give a damn and care about each other especially during holidays.
